Hello! My name is Juan Betancourt and I'm the CTE Information Technology Teacher in Progreso High School. The courses that I teach are: Principles of Information Technology, Computer Maintenance, Telecommunications & Networking, Computer Technician and Business Information Management I. This coming year will be my third one working as a teacher. This is my second class in the MTT program and i'm looking forward to learn a lot of new things. I'm currently enjoying the NBA's game six of the Celtics vs. Cavs.

I am excited to be part of HCISD at this very moment when the libraries will be the first to be digitalized for the upcoming year. We will,pilot, so to speak, PBLs, and implement technology with the use of many new tools that are already accessible to us. Howdy! My name is Adam Hovde and I teach at Marcus H.S. in Flower Mound, Texas. I am currently teaching physics. I am piloting a blended physics class for my school next year and I am working on creating content for that class this summer. I am married to a wonderful woman and have a crazy son named Joshua. I am also a professional video game beta tester. I work with a group of former programmers and we beta test many of the new games you see on the market today. I am looking forward to getting to know my new classmates. |

Good afternoon, my name is Brian Martinez. I am 24 years old and just completed my second year of teaching math at Los Fresnos HS. And in two days, I will marry my beautiful fiance Ali Cepeda. I come from a diverse educational background, with a BA in English, a minor in Computer Science, and an 8-12 Math certification. It seems that I will need all of it and then some for this program. Hello! I’m Nora Sanchez Garza and in my second course in becoming an MTT. I just finished my fifth year of teaching at Del Castillo Elementary in Brownsville as a 4th grade teacher. I’m anxious to continue learning about all the Web 2.0 Tools and how to incorporate them in the classroom. I love technology and I can tell that the students are engaged and enjoy it. Hi, I am a first year teacher at W. A. Todd 9th grade campus at Donna ISD. I teach Social Studies Inclusion/ Special Education. I'm hoping to incorporate more technology in the years to come, especially with our SpEd population. We had a taste of it this year and the students immediately caught on. Hi! My name is Mari Montelongo and I work at the Graduate Office at the University of Texas at Brownsville. I have been working for the University for 17 years. Besides handling the admission process and registration at the Graduate Office, I also work as a recruiter, assist with the marketing area for the department and advise students. I am in charge of the admission process for College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, Mathematics and Technology, College of Business and College of Nursing. I am not a teacher, but I am learning through this degree about pedagogy and instructional design models. I am very excited to take this class. |

Hi! My name is Sandra L. Cantu and I am currently working at Russell Elementary with Brownsville ISD. I started my teaching career 10 years ago. I was a 1st grade teacher for four years and a third grade teacher for 2 1/2 years. On my 6th year of teaching I was giving the opportunity to take the position as a Reading Coach at my campus. I worked as a Reading Coach for 2 1/2 years. I am currently working as the Site Coordinator for the Texas 21st Century program. However, I will be returning to the classroom this fall and will be teaching 2nd grade. Some of the things I enjoy doing are watering my lawn, looking over my vegetable garden, spending time with my family and taking nature walks with them.
