Q: When is the rough draft due? The syllabus lists April 26 as the due date for the paper, but that's the final draft date, correct?
A: Actually, I was not going to require a rough draft since I saw no noticeable improvement doing it that way. So, if want feedback on how to improve your paper, send it within enough time for me to respond - that would be no later than about Sunday.
Q: When writing the prospectus for the tutorials should we write for each tutorial individually and immediately follow with our analysis on use and improvement for that tutorial or should we write the prospectus for each tutorial then analyze each tutorial then suggest improvements for each tutorial? For example should the bulk of the paper be broken down in three parts (prospectus, analysis, improvements) or in six sections (each tutorial individually analyzed)?
A:That would be up to you. I have seen highly effective papers written both ways. So address in a way that makes sense to you and is logically organized.
Q: If we use sources in addition to the sources listed in our wiki for the group project do you want those added along with an abstract summary to the wiki?
A: Not necessary to add to the wiki. Just add them into your bibliography and you do not need to include an abstract for those sources - unless you just want to do so.
Q: I’m not sure I understand Smart Thinking. Do we use them if we need help or should we send them our papers for suggestions before we submit it to you?
A: If you need help.
Q: When we review the tutorials do we need to email the answers summary to T Barksdale? My assumption is that we don’t and it’s just part of the tutorial, but then I wasn’t sure if you were having him/her keep track of our emails to ensure we reviewed and completed the tutorial.
A: Your assumption is correct. They are not tracking them in any way. This might be something that you bring up in your assessment. .
Q: Were these tutorials created as a course assignment? Was part of the assignment to place quiz items of a certain length in specific spots or is that one of the items we should be focusing on for our review?
A: Yes it was a course assignment - but it was an independent study course at UTTC. I think the assignment was to create effective tutorials that would explain how to use the library resources. So you could certainly focus on the effectiveness of the quizzes in your review. No one but me will see the assessment so feel free to comment on anything good or bad that you see and support with details from the literature.
