Ending thoughts

Hello Everyone,

It has been a privilege and honor working with you this past semester.

If I leave you with nothing else, I want to tell you to never forget how courageous you are to step out and take on the goals of continuing your education. Not only will the children of Texas benefit, but your goals are worthy and precious and will one day be reflected examples within your own children and grandchildren.

I don't know if you know who Randy Pausch is. Like you, he also was a dreamer and one who valued his principles and life lessons with a fervor. Randy was a professor of computer science at MIT. He is an amazing man. He died four years ago at the age of 47.

Randy was never morose, but chose to celebrate his life and pass that joy along to his children, who, at the time of his death (July 2008) were 7, 4, and 2. I encourage you to read the attached article and visit his website. His video, "Last Lecture" is a tradition at MIT; his is "last" in a sense that no other speaker has ever had to express. Yet he speaks not of death but of living and the life lessons he has learned along the way. Intended as a legacy for his children, it is a wonderful video and, I believe, well worth your time to watch. It literally went viral and took the world by storm.

Wherever life takes you, don't forget how special you are. God bless each and everyone of you!

Linda
